World bid for Cobra

MARTIAL ARTS:
SEVEN members of Oldham’s Cobra Kan Karate Do are to head out to Montreal, Canada, for the World Karate and Kickboxing Council World Championships.
The five-day event at the start of October gives Cobra Kan — who train at St James Church Hall, in Shaw, and Holy Family School, Limeside — a chance to match their exploits last time out.
Jessica Shipman and Kirsty Moore, from Limeside, and Tanya O’Donnell, of Rochdale, all claimed gold in the team Kata section in November last year.
The team is hard at work raising £8,000 to pay for the trip.
