Horton clinches top spot

ANGLING:
TONY Horton (Ted Carter Preston) took first place in the JE open match on the Rochdale Canal with his bread punch at six metres approach netting him a superb 8lb 12oz of roach and rudd.
KEN Power organised a match on the Broken Cross length of the Trent and Mersey canal where Mick Travis (Ashton Angling) took first place with his 7lb 2oz catch made up mainly of skimmers which fell to pole and maggot.
TOOTAL AC’s match on Bone Mill Dam saw Jim Hardng triumph with his 2lb 12oz net including two skimmers, a chublet and some decent roach that all fell to maggot fished at 11 metres.
STEVE Roberts claimed first place in the Ashton Bros AC Wednesday evening match contested on the club water with his pole.
Maggot and pellet approach tempted 13lb 6oz of skimmers, roach and three carp.
ALAN Makin was victorious in the Tameside Federation match on Stonepits with his 4lb 11oz 8drams net. It included loads of small tench, crucians, roach and perch which fell to maggot fished down the edge under the branches of a tree.
DIARY DATES
Every Tuesday - Tootal AC members only matches on Bone Mill Dam. Draw 9am, fishing 10am to 3pm.
Every Thursday - Tameside Federation members only matches on Stonepits Draw time is 9.30am and the matches fished 10.15am to 3.15pm. Pools are £5 all in on the day.

Peak Forest Canal – Small fish showing to bread punch, squatt and pinkie.
Macclesfield Canal – Bread punch for roach and skimmers. Odd big perch down the track to worm.
Bardsley Canal – Day tickets on the bank. Maggot for silvers.
Medlock Vale – Day tickets on the bank.
Bone Mill Dam – Roach feeding to pinkie and maggot.
