Holt’s loss is Lees’ gain at Bradshaw

BERNARD Lees was the winner of the Oldham Central AC’s match on Bradshaw’s number six lake.

Employing the 11-metre pole with pellet hookbaits, he caught 36lb 12oz of carp and skimmers to deny Jim Wiseman, who had a 14lb carp in a 30lb 13oz bag on pellet and meat.

Third-best was Kevin Holt with one big carp for 16lb 1oz. However, he lost three others which would have been enough for victory.

MARK Heginbottom won the second of the Diggle AC Tuesday evening matches on Tanners Dam.

Opting for the 10-metre pole and meat, he bagged 24lb 6oz of carp and skimmers.

Martin Taylor (Trabrucco Halifax) was second again, with his caster and maggot baits accounting for an 18lb catch which included two carp and plenty of skimmers and roach.

The previous week’s winner, Dave Machin, used meat and pellet to tempt 14lb of carp for third place.

o DAVE White claimed first place in the Monarch AC match on the club lodge.

Using the waggler and maggot approach, he netted 18lb 9oz of chub, ide and roach.

The runner-up was Mick Diskin, of Tight Lines, with 16lb 6oz made up of roach, ide and chub on caster on the deck.

THE fourth of the Todmorden AS junior matches on Croft Head Fishery produced some good sport.

The winner of the under-12s section, Taylor Varley, weighed in 7lb 1oz of ide caught shallow with maggot on the pole.

Ashleigh Blakey was first in the under-16s division with 7lb 1oz of carp on the pole and caster, He was followed by Jack Riley’s 3lb 4oz of ide and carp.
