“CAN we come back, please” was the positive response from Lancashire following the under-15s girls Roses match at Austerlands Cricket Club.
Nursery Lane officials were delighted at how the day went, and are expecting a call from the county to stage another match later this season.
Austerlands secretary Neil Cadd said: “We did get lucky with the weather, because everyone knows what it can be like up here.
“We had about 100 people on the ground mid-afternoon, with mums and dads and grandma and grandads coming from all over Lancashire and Yorkshire. The standard was pretty decent as well. There were some good catches and bowling.”
Batting first, Yorkshire posted 159 for eight, with Lancashire dismissed for 70 in reply.
HEYSIDE will face either Netherfield or Glossop in the last 16 of the LCB Cup.
Nick Campbell’s men produced a great display to beat Northern League side Chorley by 15 runs in round two. The Netherfield (Northern League) and Glossop (Lancashire County League) tie is due to take place over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Bamford Fieldhouse, impressive in their defeat of CLL leaders Heywood, have a home game against Todmorden, from the Lancashire League.
Shaw’s second-round tie at home to Farnworth Social Circle (Bolton League) is on Monday (1pm start).
