BOXING:
THE best amateur talent will be on show when Oldham Boxing and Personal Development Centre runs another fundraiser.
‘Future Olympians — Oldham versus the rest’ comes to Oldham Sports Centre on June 23. Centre staff are keen to boost the kitty after securing new premises at Victoria House in the town centre.
Eric Noi, who runs the centre, said: “Young hopefuls we see as future Olympians will provide Oldham with a glimpse of the town’s boxing prospects in the build-up to London 2012. It is going to be an evening of entertainment and the very best in local amateur boxing.”
The show, in partnership with Oldham Community Leisure, will start an exciting weekend for the town and act as a warm-up to the Olympic torch passing through Oldham. Tickets cost £20 for adults with £10 concessions. Doors open at 7.30pm. Info: ericnoi@oldhamboxing.co.uk .
