CRICKET: DELPH progressed to the third round of the Heavy Woollen Cup after a bowl-out win over New Farnley.
Grant Jones’ men won the contest 2-1 after rain prevented any play.
The following day saw Delph dismiss Slaithwaite for 141 before earning a five-wicket triumph in the Drakes Huddersfield Premiership.
Matt Norvall claimed five for 31 and Faisal Butt posted an unbeaten 48.
SHAW exited the LCB Cup at the second-round stage after a 38-run defeat at home to Farnworth Social Circle, from the Bolton League.
Replying to 187 for seven, the Saddleworth League side were seemingly on course for victory at 130 for four. Overseas amateur Oral Rankine hit 28 off one over.
But a hat-trick stopped Shaw in their tracks and they were dismissed for 149.
