England nod for Josh

RUGBY: FORMER Waterhead junior Josh Johnson has been named in England Academy coach Dave Elliott’s squad to face France on June 15.
Johnson, from Diggle, who signed three-year pro forms at Huddersfield Giants last year, is part of an 18-strong squad preparing for the game at the Odsal Stadium (6.30pm kick-off).
“I’m very pleased with the talent we have,” said Elliott.
“We’ve got some very promising players and some experienced heads so I’m looking forward to seeing how they come together.
“The game will be a great test for this group. France are always very tough and physical at this age level so they’ll be a good challenge for us. It also gives us the opportunity to test our lads, see where we are and how our preparation is coming together.”
