In-form Gideon has plenty to carp about

Angling: GIDEON Orr is making a name for himself in the Diggle AC evening matches on Tanners Dam and he won the latest event with two carp weighing 8lb 1oz.
DAVE Ireland took first place in the latest of the Monarch AC Thursday evening matches fished on the club water.
He used chopped worm and caster up and down in the water to tempt 22lb of skimmers, roach and crucians.
MALC Taylor (Gilders) found Denshaw Vale in fine form in the latest of the Cairo AC matches with pole and pellet accounting for 15lb 9oz of tench, bream, roach and rudd.
CHRIS Davies (Tight Lines Shaw) took first place in the Medlock Bridge AC open match on the Park Lake.
His peg eight again showed good form with pole and caster fished at 13 metres netting 23lb 6oz of chub, roach and skimmers.
STEVE Clegg (Saints) led the way in the Medlcok Bridge AC open match fished on the Park Lake.
Waggler, pole and caster netted 17lb 4oz of mostly chub with the odd roach thrown in.
PETE Hill topped the weights in the Bank Holiday Monday open match fished on Park Lake with his pellet, maggot and caster netting him 10lb 3oz of roach and skimmers as peg eight once again came up trumps.
ADEN Bordiak (Tight Lines Shaw) has missed most of the matches so far, but made a profitable return to the Chadderton Mill AC evening series on the club water.
He accounted for 49lb 8oz made up of ide taken on caster fished up in the water and four carp taken down the side on paste.
I JOINED the rest of the Trabrucco Halifax squad for the long trip to fish the 60 peg Scunthorpe open match on the Stainforth and Keadby canal.
Chris Roberts was fifth with 6lb of skimmers and I came second with 7lb 13oz of skimmers, eels, roach, perch and ruffe taken on the tip.

Ogden Reservoir – Day tickets on the bank and at Tight lines Shaw. Maggot fished on the float and tip catching fish.
Huddersfield Narrow Canal – Day tickets on the bank.
Rochdale Canal – Fishing well at the moment especially for tench and bream. Roach in pockets but land on them and you’ll have a great days fishing.
Bardsley Canal – Day tickets on the bank. Small fish on maggot.
Chadderton Mill Lodge – Maggot up in the water for ide. Pellet and paste down the edge for carp
Alexandra Park Lake – Day tickets on the bank. A bit patchy but if you are on the fish you will have a brilliant day fishing with maggot and caster fished on pole or waggler netting plenty of chub and skimmers.
Hollingworth Lake – Fishing well with red maggot fished in conjunction with a groundbait feeder.
