Toughest test yet — Jones

CRICKET: DELPH captain Grant Jones knows his side face the toughest test of the Drakes Huddersfield Premiership season when they head to leaders Elland tomorrow. The hosts are unbeaten this term.
Jones said: “They are an excellent all-round side and the fact they have not lost a game says it all.
“We have already had some difficult encounters and this is another one. I think it demonstrates just how strong this division is.”
Jones hopes momentum will play a part in tomorrow’s fixture. Last time Delph successfully chased down Shepley’s huge total of 360 when Irfan Zahoor and Arron Lilley’s third wicket partnership of 263 pushed the home side to a seven-wicket win.
Sunday sees Delph entertain Cawthorne in the Sykes Cup quarter-finals.
WOODHOUSES entertain Great Eccleston on Sunday in the Village Cup area final. The fixture has been switched to Medlock Road after being rained off at Great Eccleston last week.
