RUGBY:
A SODDEN surface at Peach Road put paid to Waterhead’s National Conference League Division Two fixture against leaders East Leeds.
But it meant Patrick Toft didn’t miss out on one of the biggest games of the season. The young stand-off captained the England Universities Rugby League at the Four Nations Students Championship at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground.
Togt led the team to a 58-12 victory over Ireland in the opening match and scored one of the 12 tries.
He will lead the side against Scotland and finally against host nation Wales.
