Darren in dazzling form

ANGLING:

DARREN Stock made it five wins out of six matches with victory in the open matches on Hollingworth Lake.

His groundbait feeder and red maggot accounted for 19lb 8oz of bream, skimmers, roach and perch.

Runner-up Aaron Hughes took a similar net which weighed 18lb 8oz, beating Steve Hall and Fred Prudham into joint third.



JOHN Ketchingram won the Monarch AC evening match on club water after catching 29lb 12oz of carp.

Dave Ireland followed with ide, chub and roach totalling 24lb 12oz.



BRAGGING rights in round two of the Cairo AC series on Denshaw Vale went to Malc Taylor (Gilders) courtesy of a cracking 18lb 2oz catch of bream, tench and roach, which fell to pole-fished caster.



DIGGLE AC’s match on Tanners Dam was won by Mick Henshaw, whose two small carp and skimmers fell to meat, pellet and paste and weighed in at 11lb 2oz. Chris Butterworth was second with 9lb 10oz of carp and skimmers, which fell to the long pole and pellet.



DARREN Webb (Medlock Bridge AC) eased to victory in the Chadderton Mill evening match on club water.

He netted 59lb 14oz of ide and carp on maggot. Ian Cox (38lb 12oz) accounted for carp, taken on worm.



BILL Brierley triumphed in the Medlock Bridge AC open match on the Park Lake, tempting 9lb 12oz of roach, skimmers and chub. It was enough to beat his father, Dave, whose roach and chub added up to 6lb 4oz.



PETE Cuniffe won the Medlock Bridge AC open on the Park Lake, his long pole and caster mustering 13lb 6oz of roach, chub, skimmers and perch.

Chris Davies (Tight Lines) followed with chub and roach weighing in at 9lb 3oz.

Ogden Reservoir – Day tickets on the bank and at Tight Lines Shaw. Plenty of fish feeding with maggot fished on the float and tip guaranteeing bites.

Huddersfield Narrow Canal – Tickets on the bank.

Rochdale Canal – Tench feeding well on pellet and worm. Plenty of roach and skimmers taking bread punch and maggot.

Bardsley Canal – Day tickets on the bank. Plenty of fish feeding to maggot.

Chadderton Mill Lodge – Maggot and caster fished up in the water for loads of ide. Pellet and corn fished down the edge for carp.

Alexandra Park Lake – Day tickets on the bank. Still very patchy with some anglers struggling while others are getting a fish every put in.

Hollingworth Lake – Fishing really well with worm and red maggot and a groundbait feeder catching plenty of skimmer and bream.
