Val’s Sunday League honour

FOOTBALL:

VAL Broadbent spoke of her pride at being handed the Clarrie Newman Memorial Trophy at the D & J Builders (North-West) Ltd Oldham Sunday League awards night.

Club secretary Val was honoured for 20 years of service to 3D Dynamos.

She said: “It is lovely that someone took the trouble to nominate me. It makes the years of service feel worthwhile, though obviously I don’t do it for awards.”

Val and her husband Dave were also presented with the gold award at Manchester County FA’s annual meeting for services to 3D Dynamos and junior football.

To put the icing on the cake, Dynamos were also named Manchester FA club of the year.
