RUGBY: KIEL Lancashire was the star of the show as Saddleworth Rangers kept alive their hopes of avoiding relegation.
The number seven claimed two-thirds of Rangers' points in a 24-16 defeat of East Hull at Shaw Hall Bank Road — a vital clash when it comes to determining who will stay up in the National Conference League Premier Division.
Lancashire kicked four goals and crossed for a pair of second-half tries, helping Saddleworth to overcome their fellow strugglers.
OLDHAM St Anne's were crushed 40-10 at home by Wigan St Judes and remain rooted to the foot of the Division One table.
JOSH Brown scored two tries as Waterhead defeated Widnes West Bank 32-14 in Division Two, making it back-to-back successes for the Peach Road club.
