JOSH JOHNSON: the former Waterhead player is Australia-bound with England’s Academy squad.
RUGBY:
JOSH Johnson, the Saddleworth Rangers and Waterhead prospect who is at Huddersfield Giants, is in the England Academy squad for next month’s tour of Australia.
The 17-year-old prop forward flies out on July 19 to spend a month down under, picking up experience as he bids to break into Huddersfield’s first team.
Johnson’s Aussie tour with Huddersfield scholars two years ago resulted in his current three-year professional deal. He the only Oldham-born player in the 24-man squad.
