LEADERS Uppermill look to extend their promising start to the Versasteel Saddleworth and District League Division One season tomorrow when they entertain Greenfield.
All the fixtures washed out by heavy rain on April 22 — the first matches of the season — are to be contested tomorrow.
Uppermill, captained by Alex Griffiths, have won five, drawn two and lost just one of their eight games so far this term but their visitors pose arguably the biggest threat yet.
Third-placed Greenfield can close the gap on the top two by achieving their fifth triumph of the season at Leefields.
At the other end of the table, Heyside, Austerlands and basement boys Micklehurst have claimed just one victory each so far.
The bottom team welcome mid-table Hollinwood to Castle Lane in desperate need of a morale-boosting result.
Austerlands take on Stayley at Oxford Street, where the fifth-placed hosts will look to continue their promising start to the season.
Heyside — so good in the knock-out competitions but surprisingly off-the-pace in the league — host high-flying Bamford Fieldhouse.
The intriguing showdown is a dress rehearsal for the Tanner Cup semi-final on July 15.
