RUGBY:
CRAIG Highton was voted player of the tour as the National Conference League Eagles returned from their France mini-tour with a pair of victories.
The Waterhead forward was joined on the trip by clubmate winger Alan Williamson. The squad was made up of the cream of talent from the NCL's Divisions One and Two.
Coach Jamie Benn's side had already comfortably seen off Emerging Languedoc Roussillon 70-10 two days earlier before facing up to Languedoc Roussillon Select.
And, thanks in part to tries from the Peach Road duo, the tourists triumphed 60-20 to earn back-to-back wins.
JACK Connor of Saddleworth Rangers is in the BARLA Great Britain under-17s squad — the Emerging Lions — which has flown out to the Czech Republic. Czech Youth provided the opposition today and the Emerging Lions take on Czech University Students on Sunday.
