RUGBY:
ALAN Williamson registered a hat-trick to help send Waterhead on their way to a superb 44-24 win at third-placed Ovenden in Division Two of the National Conference League.
The result lifts the Peach Road team up to the shirt tails of the table’ front-runners.
Williamson’s opening try arrived after only two minutes in a terrific opening half for the visitors. He crossed twice more before the interval.
Andy Sands, Ray Logan and Fraser Coley (two) also registered before the break to leave Waterhead in full control at 38-18 up.
IN the Premier Division, Saddleworth Rangers suffered the agony of losing to a last-minute drop goal at Hull Dockers.
Andy Kay slotted over to score the single point, earning the play-off chasing side two crucial points.
