Saints suffer on home soil

RUGBY: OLDHAM St Anne’s ‘A’ were defeated for the second time this season by Leyland Warriors in the North-West Men's League Division Two, going down 44-28 at Higginshaw Road.
though the game wasn’t as one-sided as the score suggests, every time Saints went forward strongly, the visitors managed to fight back with even more strength in depth.
In Division One, Rochdale Cobras were defeated 34-20 at Hindley.
Saddleworth Rangers ‘A’ were squeezed out of the points at home in Division Four, going down 18-14 to Newton Storm. In the same division Waterhead ‘A’ were beneficiaries of a walkover 24-0 defeat of Folly Lane ‘A’.
HOLLINWOOD have started training on Tuesday and Thursday nights, meeting at the Waterhead reservoir car park at 6.45pm.
The side have opted to return to the Pennine League, following the decimation of the North-West Men's League.
