Angling: A FIELD of 200 turned out for the Gilders Festival of Angling match on Heronbrook.
With all the lakes in use, Nigel Rimmer emerged victorious courtesy of a massive 97lb 4oz net of barbel to 8lb.
He opted for the 14-metre pole, maggot and caster right across on his peg 27 on Bridge pool.
Wally Eastwood, in second place, applied meat tight over on his Meadow peg 37, where he landed carp to 9lb in a 85lb 2oz total.
Section winner Paul Connolly put in a fine display, weighing in a mixed net of 54lb 2oz on the pole across and down towards a bridge.

Pike specialist Steve Rogowski was pleasantly surprised when he landed two carp on Ogden Reservoir.
Using deadbait on ledger intended for pike, he bagged carp at 12lb and 14lb. Rogowski is enjoying a fine year on Ogden’s, with his best three pike topping 20lb.
Ken Power, of TRI-CAST Highfield, is on a roll.
He is joint fourth in the Manchester County Individual Points League after winning at Old Hough Farm, where a next-peg battle between himself and Gary Skerritt (Maver) was settled by just 2lb.
Starting with 12oz of golden tench at 16 metres, Power switched to chopped worm and caster at seven metres to catch skimmers, f1s, crucians, ide, barbel and tench for a 40lb 9oz total.
OLDHAM-based anglers again dominated the Winsford Flash open matches.
Mick McDermott was the runner-up, with five bream in the last 30 minutes making all the difference.
