RUGBY:
AN uplifting look at Oldham’s rugby league history comes to Gallery Oldham on Saturday.
Oldham Rugby League Heritage Trust’s ‘Art in Rugby’, which runs in tandem with the ‘Oldham’s Sporting Heroes’ exhibition, will be unveiled by MP Debbie Abrahams at 1pm and runs until October 20.
The Trust’s Brian Walker said: “It is upbeat and a lot of fun, which means we can offer something different to the rugby league fraternity, who might be down in the dumps about local clubs not doing so well.”
Visitors to the installation can expect to see a selection of the Trust’s fascinating collection of paintings, sculptures, and photographs.
Exhibits, which touch on clubs’ triumphs and failures over the years, encompass work from artists near and far.
The gallery is open Monday to Saturday and admission is free.
