Heyside dominate with strong display

BEN Holt smashed 14 sixes and professional Gerrie Snyman 16 maximums as Heyside thumped visitors Austerlands by 149 runs in the last-eight of the Saddleworth and District Cricket League’s Twenty20 Cup competition last night.
Opener Holt hit 136 and Snyman finished unbeaten on 127 in the home side’s mammoth total of 291 for two. They put on 245 for the second wicket. Austerlands were bowled out for 142 in reply. Tony Heaton took four for 46.
A FINE display in the field helped Werneth to an 11-runs win over visitors Milnrow in the last eight of the CLL’s Lees Bitter Twenty Competition last night. Overseas amateur Kyle Roberts hit 62 and John Slater 42 in the hosts’ total of 139 for seven.
Milnrow were restricted to 128 for four in reply. Andy Walker claimed two for 15 from four overs.
