CRICKET:
WERNETH will take on Middleton – their conquerors in the first round of this season’s Wood Cup - in the semi-finals of the Lees Bitter Twenty20 Competition at Littleborough CC on Sunday.
Littleborough, who play Heywood in the other semi-final, won the right to stage finals day at their Hare Hill ground when the draw was made on Tuesday night.
Werneth’s game starts at 1.30pm, with the other semi-final at 10.30am.
The final will be held at 4.30pm and, with the weather forecast more favourable for the weekend than of late, cricket fans should at last get the opportunity to watch a day’s action
without unwelcome interference from the elements.
