Oldham take on leaders

RUGBY:
OLDHAM RL reserves go into tonight’s home clash with leaders Featherstone Rovers (7.45pm kick-off) on the back of a 54-22 trouncing of hosts Sheffield Eagles in the Under-23s Championship.
The comprehensive triumph came hot on the heels of in-form Roughyeds’ 60-14 defeat of York.
Eagles were big and strong but lacked the guile and creativity of Oldham.
Mark Brocklehurst, who came off the bench and also made a big impact, was in charge of the side because Paul Ashton was unavailable.
The win lifted them to third place in the table behind tonight’s opponents Featherstone and Halifax.
Halifax, Oldham and Keighley are jostling for the positions two and three in a top-three play-off.
