CRICKET: IN-FORM Delph return to Drakes Huddersfield Premiership action tomorrow when they entertain Elland.
Grant Jones’ side will be confident after securing their place in the Romida Sykes Cup final, having seen off a stern test from Hoylandswaine. They take on Shepley in the final at Honley on August 12.
Delph will have to reproduce their cup form if they are to see off the challenge of tomorrow’s visitors, who are second in the table.
Jones and Co. occupy ninth position, with 34 points to their name, and are looking to kick on.
Captain Jones did not suffer any adverse reaction after returning from a calf injury in the semi-final victory, and he is in the squad for tomorrow’s match.
WOODHOUSES host leaders Woodbank tomorrow in Lees Brewery Lancashire County League Division One.
Mike Cassidy’s men are keen to climb from ninth place in the table by building on their morale-boosting victory over Irlam last time out. Sunday sees Woodhouses travel to Denton St Lawrence, who are sixth, eight points ahead of Cassidy’s side.
