CRAIG Watson has set his sights on Frankie Gavin.
OLDHAM’S Craig Watson has been called out by Frankie Gavin — and says he is more than happy to accept the invitation.
Rejuvenated welterweight Watson (29) bounced back from successive stoppages at the hands of Lee Purdy to earn a points victory over Tomasz Mazurkiewicz at the Manchester Velodrome last month.
He immediately challenged Junior Witter, but the southpaw would be just as happy to take on unbeaten Gavin.
Watson said: “Hopefully the next fight takes place around September. I have got my eye on Witter or Gavin, especially now as he has been calling me out.”
Gavin’s eagerness to fight Watson makes him a more likely opponent than Witter.
