THE TRIO of National Conference League clubs have a free weekend in which to lick their wounds and — in Waterhead's case — recharge their batteries for the assault on promotion.
Emerson Jackman's Saddleworth Rangers side fell agonisingly short of defeating Skirlaugh and remains bottom of the pile.
Oldham St Anne's have been unable to stem the losing tide in recent weeks despite bringing back experienced men into the fold, such as that of David Best.
With some talented young players, Saints can look to Waterhead for inspiration on bouncing back.
The Peach Road club kept up their momentum by winning again on the home turf which has seen them undefeated all season.
Elsewhere, Rochdale Cobras remain second-bottom of Division One in the North-West Men's League after losing out 16-10 at home to leaders Walney Central.
In Division Two, Oldham St Anne's 'A' fell to a 48-6 defeat at Bold Miners, while Fitton Hill were seen off 32-16 at Wigan Bulldogs in Division Five.
