ROYTON skipper Alan Durose has praised his team for turning their season round .
A bright start was followed by an alarming slump — but four successive wins have completely changed the mood again.
“It’s all be down to doing the basics right, playing as a unit and sticking together,” said Durose.
“We have bowled teams out all season, but recently we have become more disciplined with the bat, too.”
Royton have two tough fixtures this weekend.
They travel to Middleton on Saturday, while Sunday sees the visit of Clifton.
“I just have a feeling that could be a tricky one for us,” admitted the skipper.
THE plan to split the CLL into two divisions remains.
As reported in the Chronicle, this summer’s appalling weather prompted a rethink over whether it was appropriate to create two divisions based on performance when so many games hadn’t taken place.
But league bosses have decided to stick with the plan.
The top eight clubs in this season’s CLL will play in a Premier division and the remainder in a Championship division next year.
Teams will be promotion and relegation from 2013.
League secretary Alan Wright said: “It was decided that there would be no change, but if member clubs want to discuss it they can.”
