RUGBY:
NIGEL Hollingsworth has — finally — been awarded his BARLA Life Membership certificate.
The veteran administrator, who served on the Oldham Amateur League committee for over 20 years, had been due to collect his prize at last year's annual dinner — but a mix-up prvented it.
So Nigel was recognised at the 2012 BARLA awards night instead, htough he was unable to be present due to ill health.
The certificate was awarded by BARLA chairman Spen Allison, collected by Oldham Amateur League secretary Phil Bradbury... and finally handed to its recipient this week.
"Nigel has given more than two decades of loyal service," said Bradbury.
Hollingsworth has also been given life membership of the Oldham Amateur League.
On the same night, Oldham St Anne's player Jordan White picked up the BARLA Man of Steel award for outstanding performances over the past year.
Waterhead was named club of the year
OLDHAM St Anne's are in action in a local derby tomorrow night. Chris Deakin's side is away to Rochdale Mayfield (7.30pm).
