Non-league foorball:
CHADDERTON boss Paul Buckley is aiming for a top-half finish in Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One this term, despite the loss of three key players.
The season gets underway tomorrow, with Chadderton heading to Atherton LR and Oldham Boro — who now groundshare with Atherton Collieries — at home to Eccleshall.
Buckley’s youthful side cemented sixth position last season and a similar finish this time around would be a major achievement following the departures of defenders Danny Shaw and Ben Fletcher to Radcliffe and Mossley respectively, and winger Paul Socha to Trafford.
In come 19 year old Sunday League striking duo John Munson and Niall Sultan, and defenders Darren Lyons and Matty Russell — also 19 — from FC United and Hopwood Hall respectively.
