Waterhead clear in Challenge race

ALL YOURS: Keiran Grennan receives the BARLA team of the year award on behalf of Waterhead from Phil Bradbury, secretary of the Oldham Amateur League, before their game against Featherstone Lions in National Conference League Division Two.
RUGBY:
WATERHEAD, gunning for promotion from Division Two of the National Conference League, are setting a red-hot pace in the 2011-12 Rugby Oldham Amateur Club Challenge.
Seven teams are in the hunt for honours, but the Peach Road outfit is set to come out on top.
The side, coached by Paul Geener and Jon Perks, are clear of the rest after a strong run.
Promotion is Waterhead’s top priority this season — they are only four points behind leaders East Leeds — but success in the annual Club Challenge would also go down well.
