Old Trafford is big prize

A CHANCE to play at Old Trafford is at stake on Sunday when Heyside lock horns with Versasteel Saddleworth and District Cricket League rivals Bamford Fieldhouse in the last four of the LCB Cup at Little Hey Street.
It’s the fourth meeting of the season between the two sides. They currenty have a win each, the third having been abandoned due to rain.
Bamford won by nine wickets in the league, while Heyside held their nerve in a Tanner Cup semi-final thriller.
Heyside went on to win the knock-out competition on Monday.
Tomorrow’s league action sees leaders Uppermill host Stayley, while second-placed Bamford go to Shaw.
