DELPH captain Grant Jones hopes to have a psychological edge over Shepley in Sunday's Romida Sykes Cup final at Honley (1pm)
Last time the teams locked horns Shepley raced to 361 — only to see Delph successfully chase down their daunting target.
In what promises to be an intriguing clash, Jones believes that victory could work in Delph's favour.
He said: "Things like this can stick in the mind of an opponent.
“They must have been very confident of finishing the job, but we ended up knocking them off and it was an excellent performance.
"Hopefully it will stick in the back of their minds when we take to the pitch on Sunday.”
Jones, who suffered a calf injury in July, is fully fit to lead Delph into a final they are desperate to win, having lost three previous attempts.
Bruce Cruse is also back in the reckoning, but Kyle Hogg is on Lancashire duty.
Jones, who takes his side to Clayton West tomorrow for a league game, added: "We are at full-strength and everyone is looking forward to it.”
