MIDDLETON lifted the John Willie Lees Wood Cup after beating Norden in the final last night.
The match ran over from the weekend after a rain-affected clash at Towncroft, which saw Middleton make 255 for three and Norden reach 70 for two when the weather intervened.
Last night Middleton finished the job, dismissing their opponents for 164, with Dale Highton claiming five for 17.
Dexter Fitton was the mainstay of the Norden innings with 40.
WERNETH are hosting a Twenty20 game on Friday (6pm) in memory of the late Trevor Bland.
Werneth’s current side take on a Werneth Old Boys team, captained by Don Errock.
Errock’s outfit includes Alan Durose, John Punchard, Simon Webb, Stuart Moore, Darren Shadford, Paul Entwistle and David Ainsworth.
The entrance fee is a donation on the gate, and there will be a barbecue and raffle. Proceeds to Dr Kershaws and ground improvements.
