ANGLING:

AIDEN Bordiak (Tight Lines) won the final match in the Chadderton Mill AC evening series with 15 carp weighing 75lb 12oz.

Runner-up Paul Hill made 66lb 8oz of ide.

IN the first of the Dave Slattery memorial series of matches, Bordiak led the way on Chadderton Mill Lodge. He caught ide and carp totalling 94lb, ahead of Phil Hulme (66lb 2oz) and Steve Hall (45lb).

LEE Bell finished top of the pile in the Cranberry AC match on Beacon Fishery, taking carp and skimmers adding up to 26lb 8oz.

PEG Two on the Park Lake has been the winner in the last three contests, so with an angler of Dave Brierley’s calibre there was only going to be one result in the Medlock Bridge open.

He won courtesy of 21lb 12oz of skimmers and roach. Bob Harrison was runner-up with bream and skimmers totalling 20lb 14oz.

BRAGGING rights in the next match on the Park Lake went to Harrison, who recorded 15lb 11oz of bream and skimmers.

GEORGE Nield won the Oldham Central AC meeting on Baden Hall Lake, claiming six carp for 32lb 10oz.

THE Todmorden AS taster day was a success, with more than 30 non-anglers having a go at Ramsden Wood fishery, all of whom caught a few fish.

The club’s open on Rochdale Canal was won by Tony Price with 12lb of bream and carp.

I MANAGED fourth place in the Huddersfield Broad Canal Championships, with three bream and some perch all taken on a 14-metre pole, chopped worm and caster.

Joggers and a cyclist cost me second as I lost a tench of around 3lb when I had to manoeuvre my pole around them, finishing with 11lb 1oz.

Nick Chaffer won with 16lb of bream and skimmers off the famous gusher peg which wins almost every match.

Ken Power and grandson James Cantello are getting a taste for commercials which is no surprise as they are picking up money almost every time out.

On Old Hough Farm fishery, Power won his section with 29lb 11oz of f1s and silvers, taken on pellet.

James topped his category with 31lb 8oz and again it was pellet which did the damage.

Then they went to Sycamore Fisheries in Wigan, where Power took fifth after a slow start.

He managed to put 42lb 12oz on the scales with mirrors, tench, barbel, chub and f1s.
