Showdown in Royton
Date published: 21 August 2012
FORMER England skipper Michael Vaughan leads a NatWest Legends side against Royton tomorrow in a T20 showdown at the Paddock.
The likes of Vaughan, Devon Malcolm and Neil Fairbrother feature in the team, which takes on community clubs across the UK to boost fundraising efforts.
Royton hope to gather enough cash from the game to buy a new scorebox and nets.
Some of the proceeds will also go to the Shaw gas blast cause, for which the club raised £11,000 following a fun day in July.
The match starts at 5.30pm, following a junior tournament.
Admission costs £3 for children and OAPs, and £5 for adults.
Info: 624 0377.
The Legends team will feature Michael Vaughan (captain), Martin Bicknell, Richard Blakey, Neil Fairbrother, Mal Loye, Devon Malcolm, Paul Nixon, Min Patel, Chris Schofield, Gladstone Small and Alex Tudor.
