Ward a way to finish campaign

RUGBY:
CENTRE Richard Ward, a first-year scholar with Oldham Rugby League Club, won top prize at the under-18s end-of-season presentations when he was named coach Phil Costin's player of the year.
Ward (17) was previously with Salford City Reds before he joined the Roughyeds' Extended Scholarship scheme to become a leading member of the side in his first season.
In presenting the award, sponsored by OHM Electrical Services, Costin said: “He conducted himself excellently on and off the field."

Most improved player (sponsored by software company 7L7L) — second-year back-row forward Josh Hulme, formerly with Fitton Hill and Hathershaw Bulldogs.
Supporters' player of the year (backed by ORSA) — second-year hooker Andrew Ball, from Leigh.
Players' player of the year (Doughty's Gym, Shaw) — second-year prop Jordan Morris, the team captain, from Warrington.
Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre backed a new 'Unsung Hero' award, open to anyone at the club’s three sides.
The first winner, presented by club chairman Chris Hamilton, went to under-18s coach Costin
