CROMPTON'S end-of-season revival continued with a convincing CLL derby victory over Oldham at the Pollards yesterday.

In a match they dominated throughout, Crompton bowled their hosts for 124, despite home captain Zafar Jatoi's 41.

Danny Taylor was a thorn in Oldham's side with four for 39.

Crompton reached their target for the loss of only two wickets as paid man Simon Wright hit an unbeaten 55 and overseas amateur Denis Louis 32 not out.

ROYTON'S top-eight hopes suffered a blow with defeat at Clifton.

Pro Amal Perera took six for 40 as Royton were bowled out for 85 in a game reduced to 30 overs per side.

And that total proved well within Clifton's reach: they ended on 91 for four.

Werneth's home game against Unsworth was abandoned without a ball being bowled, a fate which befell two other matches.

Leaders Walsden took a huge step towards title glory with a home victory over third-placed Norden.

CHRIS Schofield's haul of five wickets for 20 runs was in vain as Bamford Fieldhouse, from the Versasteel Saddleworth and District Cricket League, saw their bid to land the ECB National Knock-out Cup end at the semi-final stage yesterday.
The former Lancashire and England leg spinner helped to restrict hosts York to 196 for eight from 45 overs.

An interruption for rain saw Bamford set a revised target of 189 from 39 overs, but they only managed 120.

FOUR teams were today chasing Per-Fit Windows Twenty20 Cup glory at Moorside's Turf Pit Lane ground, weather permitting.
The first semi-final got under way at 10.30am between Hollinwood and the host club.

Friarmere and Heyside met in the second last four tie at 1.30pm.

The final was due to start at 4.30pm.
