FA Cup misery
Date published: 28 August 2012
NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: IT was a miserable weekend for our two local sides in FA Cup action, with Chadderton and Mossley crashing out in the preliminary round.
Paul Buckley’s Chadderton suffered a 1-0 home loss to Northern Counties East League side Maltby Main, for whom Craig Gladwin scored a 20th minute winner.
And Mossley were beaten 3-0 by Bootle, from the North-West Counties League, at Seel Park.
Jack Gray scored in the seventh minute and player-manager Neil Prince doubled the lead soon afterwards, before Gray left the Lilywhites 50 shades of red by completing the rout early in the second half.
OLDHAM Boro didn’t play at the weekend.
