Tonge on course to keep crown

TONGE are 11.5 points clear of second-placed St Joseph’s (Chorley) with just two fixtures remaining in the Manchester Premier League.
And barring a complete loss of form, the reigning champions look sure to hang on to their crown.
Tonge took a giant step towards another title with a 13.5-3 (196-153) victory at Huddersfield outfit Longwood.
Tonge entertain Stockport side Nursery Inn next Wednesday before going to Tottington for their final fixture of the season.
WATERLOO and Taunton’s Mike Flitcroft won the Saddleworth League’s Tweed Cup, sponsored by Cheeky Chimps Activity Centre, with a 21-16 defeat of Roy Travis (Peels Arms) in the final at Crompton.
ANDREW Buckley and Darren Griffiths take part in the first heats of the Delph men’s open tonight (6.30pm).
