WITH six games to go, leaders Uppermill and nearest rivals Bamford Fieldhouse have little room for error in the race for Saddleworth and District Cricket League glory.
Three points separate the first and second-placed teams.
Uppermill open up with a trip to Shaw tomorrow. And while the hosts are in with a decent shout of a top-five finish, Alex Griffiths’ men should prevail.
Sunday’s visitors to Leefields, Glodwick, are sure to give it their all. Beaten at the death by Heyside in the Tanner Cup final, they pushed Bamford all the way in the league a couple of weeks ago.
Bamford go to Greenfield tomorrow — the only team to beat them in the league this season albeit when they fielded a weakened XI because of cup commitments — and welcome second-bottom Austerlands 24 hours later.
HEYSIDE are hosting a benefit match for their professional Gerrie Snyman tonight (6.15pm).
The 20 overs-a-side clash pits a Snyman XI against a Heyside XI.
