WERNETH skipper Matthew Taylor led by example as his side secured a welcome home victory over Radcliffe in the Lake Garage CLL.
Taylor hit a superb unbeaten 139 in Werneth’s 238 for six, receiving solid support from his cousin Joe (52).
In reply, Radcliffe were dismissed for 124 .
CROMPTON’S revival continued with a 98-runs defeat of Unsworth.
Visitors Crompton took first guard and made 196 for nine.
In reply, Unsworth were skittled for 98.
ROYTON’S top-eight ambitions suffered a huge setback when they were blitzed by nine wickets at home to second-placed Heywood.
The hosts were bowled out for just 107. That scored proved a doddle for Heywood, who reached their target for the loss of a single wicket.
OLDHAM (106) were well beaten by Clifton (107 for three), Greg Jennings taking six for 45 and Dean Morris hitting 54 not out for the hosts.
MIDDLETON lifted the Burton Cup following a five-wicket win at Heywood.
The hosts took first guard and were bowled out for 107. Middleton scored 108 for five.
