CONSISTENT PERFORMER . . . Rehan Rafiq.
CRICKET:
REHAN RAFIQ will stay at Warren Lane for a third season.
The Pakistani professional, who helped Glodwick to their first Tanner Cup final last month, is one of the most consistent performers in the Saddleworth League.
Able to adapt in any situation, Rehan (33) has proved a great acquisition.
Skipper Nigel Stock said: “It suits us very much to have Rehan in the side.
“He played a big part in our Tanner Cup run and we’re delighted to have him on board again.
Reflecting on the season with four fixtures remaining, Stock believes it has been a case of ‘what if’.
Although Glodwick sit fifth from bottom, they have had a dozen games rained off, eight at home. Stock added: “If we can stick together, I’m sure we’ll be right up there next year.
“I know I’ve said this before, but on our day we’re as good as anyone in the league.”
