RUGBY:
OLDHAM St Anne’s are determined to enjoy their five remaining games in the National Conference League Division One season.
Second-from-bottom, with two wins, the Higginshaw Lane outfit are resigned to the drop.
But they are bent on going down all guns blazing, starting against Egremont Rangers tomorrow (2.30pm).
Assistant coach Paul Deakin said: “The pressure is off. We’re just going to go out and enjoy our rugby.
Prop Danny Earley and experienced second-row man Chris Garforth are back in contention against an Egremont team who have hopes of promotion.
BEATEN at Wigan St Pats in midweek, Saddleworth Rangers are at home tomorrow (2.30pm).
Mid-table Thatto Heath Crusaders are the opponents, and while Oldham St Anne’s are fighting a losing battle, Emerson Jackman’s side can still get out of trouble.
PROP Andy Sands, described by joint coach Paul Geener as Waterhead’s most consistent player of the season, is unavailable for tomorrow’s Division Two clash at home to Dewsbury Celtic (2.30pm).
The hosts, in third, are one place and three points better off than Celtic.
