Crompton canter to derby victory

CRICKET: CROMPTON bounced back to form after the previous day's reverse against Norden by comfortably defeating Werneth in yesterday's Lake Garage CLL derby at Glebe Street.
They dismissed Werneth for 98.
Crompton took first guard and made 183 for nine.
Skipper Carl Taylor hit 44, while Werneth spinner Andy Walker took four for 77 and visiting pro Hasnain Abbas three for 54.
ROYTON were convincing winners at Radcliffe on Saturday, but they were equally emphatic losers at Rochdale 24 hours later.
They took first guard at Redbrook and were bowled out for 146.
In reply, the hosts raced to 147 for one.
OLDHAM were blown away by Middleton, who batted first and made 243.
The hosts were set a revised target of 190 following rain, but were skittled for 88
Littleborough pro Clinton Perren notched his 1,000th run of the season and his 10,00th for the club as he raced to an unbeaten 102 in his team's defeat of Unsworth at Hare Hill.
