Hollinwood’s perfect 10

TABLE TENNIS: HOLLINWOOD ‘B’ got their Oldham and District Table Tennis League Division One season off to a perfect start with a 10-0 win at Rosehill.
Three of the 10 sets went the distance, with Nathan Buckley, George Jones and Paul King unbeaten.
Glodwick ‘A’, champions for the past six seasons, claimed a 9-1 victory over their ‘B’ team.
Michael Moir and Mark Ramsbottom recorded maximums, while Kristof Pinter registered the consolation.
In Division Two, newly-promoted Deaf Club ‘A’ enjoyed a 9-1 victory at Werneth ‘C’.
Liaqat Ali, Ian Cockcroft and Eddie Kalinowski all won their individual games, but Doreen Schofield and Paul Wilkinson stole a point back for Werneth in the doubles.
Honeywell ‘C’ overcame Pennine 6-4 in a tough opener.
Glen Chadwick and Steve Mather won two of their games for the hosts, but Paul Carter, Bernard Davies and Matthew Kelly persevered for Honeywell to claim overall victory.
