Twenty20 finals set for switch

SADDLEWORTH and District Cricket League officials are hoping to play this year’s Twenty20 finals day in the early stages of next season.
The remaining semi-final between Friarmere and Heyside and the final were due to be played at Moorside Cricket Club on Saturday.
But an inspection found the ground to be unfit, with some aras of the outfield sodden and others undergoing remedial work.
League chairman Eddie Bayliss tried to find an alternative venue at short notice, but was unsuccessful.
August Bank Holiday Monday was the original date set aside for finals day, but rain meant only one result was possible — with Hollinwood beating Moorside in a bowl-out.
