SHAUN Hill bagged a hat-trick as Summit overcame Royton Athletic in the Midas Plumbing Oldham Sunday League Division Two at Clayton Playing Fields.
And Hill's treble strike was just the fillip that newly-formed Summit needed to climb away from the lower reaches of the table.
This was Athletic's first match of the campaign having been accepted back into the league after settling its debts. Their fellow clubs voted to readmit them.
And they got off to a flyer when Danny Oatway showed great pace to escape his marker before rifling home a fierce drive from 18 yards after 14 minutes.
Oatway's strike was undoubtedly the goal of the game.
Athletic secretary Tony Muir said: "We said we were looking for a top-three finish but a lot of improvement is required."
Joe Taylor and John Slater were the other Summit marksmen.
