Saxons plunder Autumn laurels

GOLF:
IT was a family affair in round two of the Autumn Cup at Blackley, with brothers Louis and Gareth Saxon filling the first two places.
Elder sibling Louis emerged victorious, but only after a card play-off.
Saxon the winner recorded a round of 75-8-67, while Saxon the runner-up returned 68-1-67.
GARY Williams was the overall winner of the Dunkerley Cup at OLDHAM thanks to a two-round total of 134.
There was a tie for second with Brian Ogden and Ronnie Cavanagh posting 135s.
Cavanagh (net 66) was the runner-up in round two of the Dunkerley Cup, a shot behind winner Mark Furnival, with Jack Roberts (net 67) in third place.
WERNETH completed their last task as holders of the Archie Preston Manchester Alliance Mixed Trophy by hosting the 2012 event — with Thytherington beating Dunscar 4-3.
