TABLE TENNIS:
GLODWICK ‘B’ overcame Werneth ‘A’ 6-4 in a hard-fought contest in Division One of the Oldham Table Tennis League.
Glodwick surged into a 5-0 lead, but a brace from Darryl Meredith allowed Werneth – who are currently third in the league – to run them close.
In the battle between last year’s Division Two champions and runners-up, Hyde YMCA ‘A’ and Unison drew 5-5.
With the momentum swinging from one side to the other, Larry Bainbridge gave an important performance for Unison, winning all three of his games.
