Tarleton 41, Oldham RUFC 8
FROM being in the game at 8-8, Oldham were blown away by a more fluent Tarleton outfit in this North Lancashire Division One fixture.
Ben Kelly opened the scoring with a penalty for the hosts, but Oldham bounced back when Gaz Barber put through a good kick for Andy Gorey to score in the corner.
Matt Shorrock’s try restored Tarleton’s lead, but a penalty by Jordan McEwan levelled the scores.
After the half-hour mark, Tarleton began to assume control.
Oldham’s stand-out player was back-row forward Jake Watson who never stopped battling throughout the game and produced some superb cover tackling.
